Pregnancy can be an incredibly exciting time, but the expense can also be quite daunting. Luckily there are dozens of companies and organizations offering freebies, samples and useful information packs to help the transition from bump to motherhood (or indeed fatherhood) that much easier on the pocket.

And besides, who wouldn't like a chestful of baby freebies sent their way?

Here follows a list of all the pregnancy and baby freebies I've been able to find, with links to websites or more information wherever possible. I'll try to keep this list updated with the latest offers and membership sites, so please feel free to let us know of new freebies in the comments below.

Bounty

Probably the most well-known and utilized pregnancy freebie service, Bounty offers five free packs in total, "from bump to baby and beyond":

1. Pregnancy Information, given by your healthcare professional during pregnancy at your booking in appointment.
2. Mum to be pack, which can be collected from Boots or Sainsburys during your pregnancy
3. Mum's pack, given at the labour ward
4. Newborn pack, given by the Bounty lady when your baby arives
5. Family pack, to be collected from Boots or Sainsburys after baby is born.

Asda Baby and Toddler Club

Sign up to receive a free Huggies Newborn Starter pack, plus news and special offers from Asda. I'm not exactly sure what's in the pack, though in various forums there's mention of free nappy packs and accessories.

Boots Parenting Club

Get money-off vouchers, glossy magazines and 10 Advantage Card points for every £1 spent on baby products when you register. Parents with children aged up to two years old are eligible to register.

Tesco Baby and Toddler Club

When joining Tesco's Baby and Toddler club you'll receive:

• Exclusive money-saving coupons across a selection of baby items, including toiletries, nappies and baby food to help you save up to £150
• Free, glossy Tesco Baby & Toddler magazines until your child turns three, including great-value coupons to save you money on essentials.
• A free parents' parking permit allowing you to park nearer the store.

In addition, you'll be entered into a prize draw to win a year's supply of nappies (imagine how much that would help you save!). One lucky winner will be chosen every month.
